For me, it's just one.... The V-Pick 2.75mm
I still like my custom 1.5 jazz picks from In-Tune, but once you go smooth 2.75... it's hard to go back. Google 'em - V-Picks... Vinnie will hook you up.

White Fender Extra-Heavy with its point sharpened via the 'rug-drag-method'. Just sharpen the end on any rug! The next best pick I have found are Pickboy Jazz picks.

When I play my electric I only use Fender nylon mediums.I use a Dunlop heavy thumb pick for acustic stuff.

The two picks I love most are the Dunlop U.S.A Ultex .60 and the Cool Medium- 0.75mm!

DUNLOP JAZZ lll's (DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DUNLOP JAZZ ll's cuz the JAZZ ll's are rounded at the ends... the lll's are nice and pointy and they come in red and black , now they're making bigger versions of the DUNLOP JAZZ lll's WHICH BITES , CUZ THE REGULAR SMALL SIZES are perfect , IN THAT , they're hard as a rock and SMALL ENOUGH (this is important) to get just enough trianglular space after the thumb and first finger take up enough room. i hate picks like regular sized fender extra heavies cuz there is too much pick hitt'n the string , to get maximum alternate picking perfection you need very little amount of pick hitt'n the strings... THE DUNLOP JAZZ lll's rule (remember never go for the JAZZ ll's
they're too too rounded off at the most crucial place)...

For my Gibson Epiphone acoustic/electric I prefer Fender thin but for my Sega TC-10 I use "Snarling Dog" - brain picks .88 medium. They have a raised rough surface for better grip. I want to concentrate on playing, not having to focus on hanging on or dropping my pick in the middle of a song.

The longer I play, the heavier picks I use... Fender heavy... I like the clown puke or pearl.
