I'm not sure if I said that correctly. It's the Tech 21 that I leave on all the time. I can dial down the "character" and the overdrive and use it for a tone-shaping tool. I use the MXR when I need more distortion or overdrive. The Tech 21 has bass, mid, treble, level, character, and overdrive controls.

Are you using that for a bass distortion pedal? I am using an MXR Distortion + and a Tech 21 VT Bass pedal that I leave on all the time and vary the overdrive and distortion according to the song

OK! I have a Darelectro Fab Metal pedal that Mike Payne would use for distortions that I used to do Alice In Chains at home today. It kicks azz! I have to buy this off of him...LOL!

Derrick, I have a Tech 21 VT Bass pedal that I use for preamp/overdrive/distortion that I just love. I leave it on all the time as a tone-shaping tool varying the amount of overdrive/distortion as needed. I also use an MXR distortion plus when I need to kick up the distortion in the middle of a song. I also use a Boss CEB-3 bass chorus and an ultrabass(octivider?) that is on my amp. I sometimes switch between channels to bump up the volume for super loud parts of certain songs and an ICQ Technologies noise decimator sometimes when I'm getting hum.

I normally don't use pedals but I am open to give out a new sound for Lumination. So I like to know what pedals would be cool for bass guitars.

Dudes, I just got a Tech 21 VT Bass sansamp/overdrive for my bass rig and this pedal is cool. The minute I kicked it on I fell in love with my new sound. It's so much fuller and the tones are beautiful. I can tweak it to get a wide variety of sounds from svt, vintage tube, flip-top and modern tones. the knobs are very sensitive so I turn it a little and get alot and if I turn them alot I get alot more. The output of this pedal is downright dangerous. Yes, I am responsible for the earthquake felt in Oklahoma the other day. Sorry about that. This is the most psyched I have been about new gear in a long time. I love this pedal. I can't wait for band practice to unleash it on the guys in my band.

Working on my slap playing. I still like playing with 3 fingers best although using the pick is kinda fun.

Though I like using 1.00 gauge picks for a number of rock instrumentals, nothing is like slapping the bass when playing jazz and funk.
