I have an 84 Squire Strat. I will never part with her. Paid 350 for it and the USA fender hardshell case. Had it appraised at 500. I have played it hard over the years and it still holds tune and sounds great.
I find that over a simple chord progression like this one i just think about linking different scale patterns and staying in the same key for 90% of the time:thats easiest. However, when it comes to more varied chord sequences such as in jazz, it's best to think about the chords whilst improvising as you may have to change key all of a sudden.
I am a self taught guitarist. I did not take band in school until my junior year when they started a jazz band. I have been playing bass for about 9 years at my church in Garden City. Bass is fun and challenging but my real passion is the guitar. I really like playing blues leads and riffs. One of my favorite riffs is the main riff in "Always on the Run" by Lenny Kravitz
