Guitarist Sheryl Bailey is rated among the foremost bop-based guitarists to have emerged from the 90's. Her attack can direct and hard swinging, but she exudes subtlety, elegance of phrase and a pure, warm liquid sound.

She is an Associate Professor at Beklee College of Music, and has a book on jazz improvisation from Mel Bay Publications: "Moveable Shapes" - in addition to a live concert DVD with her trio, "The Sheryl Bailey 3: Live in NYC" (http://www.melbayxpress.com). In addition to the live DVD, Sheryl has 6 releases as a leader, including the very recent release of "A New Promise" on the MCG Jazz label - a rare and exciting big band tribute to the late Emily Remler.
